Chef Tadayoshi Motoa

Chef Tadayoshi Motoa is a visionary chef bringing Japanese-style cuisine to the forefront of American palates. Born in Japan, he began his career as an engineer before transitioning to the culinary arts. This unique path shaped his analytical precision and disciplined approach, enabling him to master and innovate traditional Japanese techniques with remarkable creativity. Over the course of his international career, Chef Tadayoshi has held leadership roles in cities such as Madrid, London, Jakarta, Osaka, and Copenhagen. As Executive Chef at Michelin-starred Restaurant Toki in Madrid, he earned a Michelin Star within six months of opening. He also led Restaurant Sachi in London, overseeing the omakase experience and supporting the brand’s expansion to Morocco. Moreover, his roles at Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Thamrin and Aloft Osaka Dojima further reflect his ability to blend Japanese traditions with local flavors. During his tenure at Restaurant Damindra in Copenhagen, a favorite of the Danish Royal family, Chef Tadayoshi solidified his global reputation for culinary artistry and operational excellence.  Now leading the recently opened Omakase Room location in D.C., Chef Tadayoshi invites guests to experience a poetic, intimate omakase journey, deeply rooted in the spirit of Japanese omotenashi and seasonal precision.
